Hello! I’m Mrs. Sonnen, and I live on a farm in beautiful Greencreek, Idaho. My husband and I love spending time outdoors—whether it’s hiking, riding side-by-side through Idaho’s backcountry, camping, or splashing around in our state's many rivers. Visiting and playing with our grandchildren in Utah, Florida, Pennsylvania, and right here in nearby Nez Perce makes my heart happy.
I hold a degree in Early Childhood Development from Utah Valley State College, a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Lewis-Clark State College, and a Master of Education from Arkansas State University. One day, I plan to complete my PhD!
My teaching journey began with early childhood education in Benicia, California, in 1988. After taking time off to raise my four children—Amanda, Andrea, McCoy, and Allycia (all now grown with families of their own)—I returned to the classroom in 2011 as an elementary school teacher.
I have a deep love for children and a passion for teaching. Nothing brings me more joy than watching students grow and discover their potential. I’m especially excited to spark curiosity, foster a love of learning, and explore the wonders of the world together. From discovering how things work to celebrating learning milestones, I believe every moment in the classroom can be magical.
Let’s make this year an incredible adventure—together!
